Rocky Pase is a highly regarded professional multi-genre vocalist equally at home on stage and in the recording studio.
With Santa Cruz legend Don McCaslin (and the Amazing Jazz Geezers) for the past several years, he has been singing The Great American Song Book, Jazz and Blues Standards, Show Tunes, and even some Rock and Roll!
His roots are, chronologically, in Classical, Folk, Folk-Rock, Rock, Blues, R&B-Soul, Broadway, and, coming full circle, home to Jazz.
Also an actor and comedian, Rocky recently starred in the Mid-County Choraliers production of the new hit musical Just Like A Gypsy—to rave reviews!
From New York via Los Angeles he has been in several groups including the Virgo Award winning five member L.A. based vocal ensemble Crescendo.
Rocky has been busy entertaining at retirement homes, assisted living facilities and senior centers in Santa Cruz with his piano accompanists Carol Thorson and Matisse Freimark, or at Open Mics such as at The Ugly Mug, or at the Santa Cruz Jazz Society weekly jam session and Open Mic, or with The Rocky Pase Quartet, and also with his Motown tribute band Rocky and the Ball Bearings!
A creative artist, Rocky is also a talented songwriter and guitarist whose original song "Look Out For Your Love" won several local competitions and was recently performed in the West Coast Songwriters Association Grand Finals held at Berkeley Freight and Salvage in August.
Before moving back to Santa Cruz in 2010, he performed in L.A. with Mighty Bo Young and the Song Slingers and with the highly touted Way to Happiness Jazz Band.
